Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics.
- Administer medications and document all care activities accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and emergencies while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Collaborate with the nursing team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required (current and in good standing).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic Arrhythmia (optional but preferred) certification.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
- Clean background check and drug screen required.
