Responsibilities
- Patient Monitoring: Observe and report changes in patient conditions and vital signs to the Registered Nurse immediately.
- Personal Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment while strictly adhering to infection control protocols.
- Communication: Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care.
- Documentation: Accurately record patient intake and output, as well as any changes in condition, in the electronic health record.
- Assistance: Support nursing staff during procedures and assist with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Texas Board of Nursing (BON) Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited CNA program is highly preferred.
- Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
- Interpersonal Skills: Compassionate, patient, and possess excellent communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to follow instructions and maintain strict confidentiality.
