Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake and accurately record vital signs, medical history, and insurance information.
- Prepare patients for examination by the physician, ensuring comfort and privacy.
- Assist providers during clinical procedures, including phlebotomy and minor surgeries.
- Maintain and sterilize medical equipment and examination rooms to ensure strict hygiene standards.
- Manage medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by the physician, following all safety protocols.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and communicate test results effectively.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Proficient in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physical demands of the job.
