Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Support patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Monitor Patient Health: Observe and report changes in patient condition, behavior, and vital signs to the nursing staff.
- Provide Personal Care: Assist with feeding, mobility, and positioning to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Administer Medications: Perform medication passes under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Document Care: Accurately document patient care activities, intake, and output in electronic medical records.
- Communicate Effectively: Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain Environment: Keep patient rooms and common areas clean, safe, and organized.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Certification: Current Pennsylvania CNA certification (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Licensure: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift patients, and perform physical tasks.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: Strong empathy and desire to help those in need.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer literacy for electronic charting.
