Job Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will play a vital role in assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring their health status, and ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding as necessary.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care plans in accordance with facility policies and HIPAA regulations.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding patient status and needs.
- Environment: Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, sanitized, and organized to promote infection control.
- Safety: Monitor patients for changes in condition and report any concerns or emergencies to the nursing staff immediately.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, unencumbered state licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- CPR: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross.
- Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to demonstrate empathy and patience.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift and transfer patients, and perform physical tasks as required by the role.
