Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance, with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs: Accurately monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assistance: Aid patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Hygiene & Nutrition: Ensure patients maintain proper hygiene and assist with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records and logs in compliance with facility protocols.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient status updates to nurses and medical staff to ensure continuity of care.
- Environment: Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitized patient environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Active, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the District of Columbia.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: No prior experience required; we value attitude and aptitude over history.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks required in patient care.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Compassion: Genuine empathy and a strong desire to help others in a healthcare setting.
- Background Check: Must pass a background check and drug screening.
