Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Health: Observe and report changes in patient conditions, including vital signs, behavior, and physical symptoms, to the nursing staff.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Provide compassionate care by helping patients with bathing, dressing, eating, and mobility as needed.
- Administer Medication: Follow strict protocols to assist patients with prescribed medications under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Document Patient Records: Accurately maintain and update patient charts and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Facilitate Patient Comfort: Create a safe, clean, and comforting environment for patients, ensuring their emotional and physical needs are met.
- Communicate with Team: Collaborate effectively with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications
- Active Certification: Current, valid state Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS): Current BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- High School Diploma: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or long-term care setting preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift patients, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Compassionate Nature: Strong empathy and excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients and families.
