Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations by escorting them to the exam room, taking vital signs, and recording medical history accurately.
- Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures, including drawing blood, administering injections, and preparing specimens for lab analysis.
- Perform routine administrative tasks such as updating patient charts, scheduling appointments, and verifying insurance information.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in the exam rooms and waiting areas.
- Provide patient education on medications, diet, and lifestyle changes to ensure better health outcomes.
- Handle incoming calls and patient inquiries professionally and accurately.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification as a CMA, RMA, or NCMA preferred.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification required.
- Experience working in a clinical setting, preferably in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
