Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Mobility Support: Safely assist patients with transferring to and from beds, wheelchairs, and walkers.
- Meal Assistance: Prepare nutritional meals and assist patients with eating, ensuring dietary restrictions are met.
- Observation: Monitor patients for changes in condition and report any concerns immediately to the RN or Charge Nurse.
- Environment: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered New York State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or CPR certification.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and families.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care, assisted living, or hospital setting is preferred.
