Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting needs.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist physicians and nurses with medical procedures, examinations, and treatments.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort by maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding patient status and needs.
- Document patient care activities and observations in electronic medical records (EMR) precisely.
Qualifications
- Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of New York.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting is strongly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to empathize with patients.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift patients as needed.
