Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and toileting assistance to ensure patient comfort and dignity.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist with mobility, transferring patients to and from beds, wheelchairs, and stretchers using proper body mechanics and transfer devices.
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments, and assist physicians and RNs during procedures.
- Change bed linens and maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
- Document patient care activities, including medications administered and changes in patient condition, accurately and timely.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
- Current and unencumbered Georgia State Licensure as a CNA.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of basic life support and infection control protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 250 lbs as needed.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
