Responsibilities
- Provide Compassionate Patient Care: Assist residents and patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients transfer safely in and out of bed or wheelchairs, utilizing proper body mechanics.
- Ensure a Safe Environment: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized living space for all patients to prevent infection and ensure safety.
- Communication: Clearly communicate patient changes, concerns, or emergencies to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and care logs in compliance with state regulations.
- Meal Assistance: Assist patients with meal preparation and feeding as needed.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Valid and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Illinois.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks required for patient care.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on empathy and patient advocacy.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care or home health setting is highly preferred.
