Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist residents and patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients transfer in and out of beds, wheelchairs, or walkers using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment.
- Medication Assistance: Support the nursing staff by reminding patients of medication schedules and assisting with medication administration under supervision.
- Document Care: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care plans, reporting any changes in patient condition immediately to the Charge Nurse.
- Emotional Support: Build trusting relationships with patients and provide companionship, active listening, and emotional support.
- Sanitation: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- CNA License: Must hold a current, unencumbered Oregon CNA license.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Compassion: Genuine passion for patient care and a patient-first attitude.
- Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.
