Responsibilities
- Provide direct, hands-on patient care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers to and from beds, wheelchairs, and stretcher beds.
- Communicate changes in patient condition or behavior to the Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Prepare and serve meals, ensuring all dietary restrictions and preferences are respected.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Document daily care activities and shift reports accurately into electronic medical records (EMR).
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing with the State of Kansas.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (ACLS preferred).
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Compassionate demeanor with a patient-centered approach to care.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care, or assisted living setting is highly preferred.
