Responsibilities

  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Support patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting while maintaining their dignity and privacy.
  • Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
  • Hygiene & Infection Control: Ensure patient rooms are clean, sanitized, and free of hazards, strictly adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Assist Medical Staff: Help nurses and physicians with basic medical procedures, wound care, and specimen collection as directed.
  • Patient Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care activities in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Communication: Act as a vital link between patients, families, and the healthcare team, reporting changes in patient condition immediately.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Current, active Louisiana State CNA license.
  • Education: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move patients for extended periods; good physical stamina and hand-eye coordination.
