Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) accurately and promptly throughout the night shift.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Change linens and maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in strict compliance with infection control protocols.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the Registered Nurse, ensuring proper documentation.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing staff and patient families to provide updates on patient status and concerns.
- Respond immediately to patient call lights and assist with mobility and transfers as needed.
- Assist with meal service and ensure patients are properly hydrated and nourished.
Qualifications
- Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Illinois.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients for extended periods.
- A compassionate nature and a genuine desire to help others.
- Flexibility to work rotating night shifts, including weekends and holidays.
