Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Monitor Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates as directed by nursing staff.
- Assist with Mobility: Support patients with ambulation and transfers, utilizing proper body mechanics and mobility equipment safely.
- Maintain Patient Records: Document patient care activities, changes in patient condition, and any incidents in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Communicate Effectively: Serve as a key communication link between patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team regarding patient needs and concerns.
- Ensure Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures to create a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Meal Assistance: Assist patients with meal planning, preparation, and eating to ensure proper nutrition and hydration.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Active, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant license in the state of Colorado.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in long-term care, home health, or hospital settings is preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and families.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting, and bending for extended periods.
- Compassion: Genuine empathy and a patient-centered approach to healthcare.
- Background Check: Pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
