Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) and report any abnormalities to the RN or Charge Nurse immediately.
- Assist with patient transfers using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment to ensure safety.
- Document patient care activities, intake and output, and changes in patient condition accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment; adhere to infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and emergency situations following established protocols.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Nebraska.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association is required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently during the night shift.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift, bend, and assist patients as needed.
- CPR certification is a plus.
