Responsibilities
- Patient Monitoring: Observe and report changes in patient conditions, including vital signs, pain levels, and behavioral changes, to the nursing staff.
- Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Provide personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting for patients.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure patients are clean, comfortable, and safe; assist with mobility and positioning.
- Documentation: Accurately record patient care activities, intake/output, and changes in condition in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Communication: Act as a vital communication link between patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to call lights and emergencies within the unit, following hospital protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, valid Arizona CNA Certification (STNA) required.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients of all ages.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
- Professionalism: Adherence to HIPAA regulations and hospital policies at all times.
