Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count surgical sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operations
- Prepare patients for surgery by positioning and draping them appropriately
- Handle and dispose of biohazardous materials safely
- Maintain equipment inventory and sterilization logs
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure seamless workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of operating room experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
