Responsibilities
- Monitor residents' vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respiration) and report any abnormalities immediately to the Charge Nurse.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents during the night hours to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and infection-free environment by adhering to all facility sanitation protocols.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate effectively with the nursing team and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered CNA license in the District of Columbia.
- CPR/BLS Certification (American Heart Association) is required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently during night shifts.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and assist patients as needed.
- A valid Driver's License is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in long-term care or acute care is a plus.
