Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature.
- Assist patients with mobility issues and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients in their homes or facility.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team to ensure holistic care.
- Document patient care activities and observations accurately in electronic health records.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients to improve their quality of life.
Qualifications
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR is required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
- Previous experience in a home health, nursing home, or hospital setting is preferred but not always required.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move patients safely.
- Compassionate demeanor, patience, and a strong commitment to patient well-being.
- Reliable transportation for travel to patient homes.
