Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide direct, compassionate care to patients under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and temperature accurately.
- Assistance: Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient status, concerns, and changes in condition to the nursing team and physicians.
- Hygiene: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, including linen changes and room sanitation.
- Documentation: Accurately complete and maintain required documentation and charts in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Kentucky required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is highly preferred but not always required.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients up to 50 lbs; ability to stand for extended periods.
