Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities immediately to nursing staff.
- Assist licensed nurses with medical procedures, wound care, and patient mobility.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment to prevent infection and ensure comfort.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding patient status and needs.
- Prepare and serve meals, ensuring dietary restrictions are met.
Qualifications
- Current State of Illinois CNA Certification (CNA 1) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Previous experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
