Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding under the supervision of RNs and LPNs.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including walking and transferring, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Communicate changes in patient condition or behavior to the nursing staff immediately.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician and according to facility protocols.
- Document patient care activities, intake and output, and changes in patient status in electronic health records.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment to prevent infections and accidents.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Colorado required.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift patients as needed.
- Compassionate demeanor with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
