Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the Charge Nurse.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning to prevent bedsores and ensure safety.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment for patients, including sanitizing equipment and linens.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team regarding patient conditions and needs.
- Administer medication as directed by the RN or LPN, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Support patients emotionally and spiritually during their stay.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Texas.
- Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support) for Healthcare Providers.
- Previous experience in a long-term care, assisted living, or hospital setting is preferred.
- Strong compassion, patience, and empathy for the elderly or disabled population.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients for extended periods as needed.
