Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist registered nurses with medical procedures and patient transfers using proper body mechanics.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe patient environment at all times.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition in the electronic health record.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and emergency situations.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered CNA license issued by the District of Columbia.
- CPR/BLS Certification (American Heart Association) required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Compassionate demeanor with a focus on patient dignity and comfort.
- Basic computer proficiency for charting purposes.
