Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and patient preferences.
- Document patient care activities, changes in condition, and any incidents accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and family members regarding patient status and needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Louisiana State CNA License required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
- Compassionate, patient-centered attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility is highly desirable.
