Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Patient Observation: Monitor patient conditions for changes or emergencies and report any abnormalities immediately to the RN or Charge Nurse.
- Medication Assistance: Assist with medication administration under the supervision of licensed nursing staff, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure holistic care.
- Environment Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized patient environment in compliance with infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Nebraska.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skills: Strong patient assessment skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients as needed; ability to stand for extended periods.
