Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to residents, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature) accurately and timely.
- Assist with mobility, transferring patients between bed and wheelchair, and ambulation.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and nutritional plans.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized environment for residents and staff.
- Document all care activities and resident interactions in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff, family members, and medical professionals regarding resident care plans.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid California Driverβs License and reliable transportation (preferred for facility travel).
- Strong compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to help the elderly and sick.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs safely.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or home health setting is a plus.
