Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure patient rooms are clean, sanitized, and organized to promote a healing environment.
- Communication: Effectively communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing staff and charge nurse immediately.
- Assistance with Mobility: Safely transfer patients between bed and wheelchair or assist with ambulation using proper body mechanics.
- Meal Assistance: Monitor patient dietary intake and assist with feeding as required.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and care logs.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, unencumbered CNA License in the state of Texas.
- Training: Completion of an accredited CNA training program.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic nursing procedures.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on empathy and patience.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
