Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure patients remain clean, comfortable, and hydrated throughout their stay or shift.
- Communication: Report patient observations and changes in condition to registered nurses and physicians immediately.
- Assistance: Support patients with meal times, ambulation, and transferring between beds or wheelchairs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records and shift logs as required by facility policy.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, active Oregon CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license required.
- Training: High school diploma or GED is preferred; completion of an accredited CNA program is mandatory.
- CPR Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Experience: Prior experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy and compassion.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment up to 50 lbs as needed.
