Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Health: Observe and record patient symptoms, reactions, and progress, reporting changes to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Help patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating to ensure their comfort and dignity.
- Administer Medication: Assist patients with medication as directed by licensed nurses, ensuring accuracy and timely administration.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Regularly check and record blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.
- Environmental Care: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment following infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Must hold a current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant license in the state of Texas.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients regularly throughout the shift.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong empathy, patience, and excellent communication skills.
- Experience: Prior experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred.
