Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure their comfort and dignity.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates as part of the daily health assessment.
- Medication Assistance: Support patients with medication reminders and administration under the direct supervision of registered nurses.
- Documentation: Maintain precise and timely documentation of patient care plans, behaviors, and changes in condition in electronic medical records.
- Emergency Response: Respond immediately to patient emergencies and alert nursing staff to any medical concerns.
- Meal Assistance: Assist residents during meal times, ensuring proper nutrition, hydration, and monitoring for swallowing difficulties.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure holistic care.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Valid and current State of Nevada CNA license is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs frequently throughout the shift.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient and empathetic demeanor.
- Training: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is highly preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to follow instructions and adhere to strict medical and safety protocols.
- Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
