Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide direct personal care to residents, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and assistance with toileting.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately.
- Mobility Support: Assist patients with ambulation, transfers, and positioning to ensure safety and prevent falls.
- Communication: Effectively communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing staff and families.
- Hygiene & Nutrition: Serve meals, assist with feeding, and ensure proper nutrition and hydration.
- Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active and unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the District of Columbia.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a long-term care, assisted living, or hospital setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and transfer patients (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Attitude: A positive, empathetic, and professional attitude towards patients and colleagues.
