Responsibilities
- Perform accurate patient intake, obtain vital signs, and document medical histories.
- Assist physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
- Prepare examination rooms, sterilize equipment, and maintain a clean clinical environment.
- Administer injections, medications, and assist with phlebotomy (blood draws) as needed.
- Manage and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems efficiently and confidentially.
- Coordinate patient follow-up appointments and referrals.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors, answering inquiries and directing traffic.
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) required.
- Current New York State license or permit to practice.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient privacy (HIPAA compliance).
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume medical environment.
