Responsibilities
- Prepare and compound sterile/non-sterile medications under pharmacist supervision
- Verify prescription accuracy and patient information in pharmacy management systems
- Manage inventory, ordering, and controlled substance documentation
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage and side effects
- Maintain compliance with DEA, FDA, and Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure timely medication dispensing
- Train new pharmacy technicians on standard operating procedures
Qualifications
- Active Arizona Pharmacy Technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and medication safety knowledge
- Excellent communication skills and customer service experience
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25 lbs
- Basic math and computer skills with high typing accuracy
- Valid Arizona driver's license (for potential deliveries)
