Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, calculate dosages, and input prescriptions into the pharmacy management system accurately.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and retrieving pharmaceuticals.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions regarding medications, insurance, and refill requests.
- Assist in the compounding of sterile products and the maintenance of aseptic technique areas.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification (CPhT) required by the state of Texas.
- High School Diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Proficiency with computer systems and pharmacy software.
