Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and conducting cycle counts
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient medication records in compliance with HIPAA
- Provide exceptional customer service, counseling patients on medication usage
- Prepare IV medications and sterile compounds in a cleanroom environment
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1) for prescription processing
- Train pharmacy interns and new technicians on standard procedures
Qualifications
- Active PTCB or ExCPT certification required
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience
- Proficient in pharmacy dispensing software and medical terminology
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and pharmacy law
- Ability to accurately perform pharmaceutical calculations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Basic IV certification preferred
