Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling.
- Verify incoming prescriptions for correct dosage, patient information, and potential drug interactions using our pharmacy management systems.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and monitoring expiration dates to ensure product availability.
- Assist patients with medication inquiries, provide basic counseling on usage instructions, and process insurance claims efficiently.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and state pharmacy laws to protect patient confidentiality.
- Operate dispensing equipment and perform basic clerical duties such as filing and data entry.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification (PTCB or ExCPT) or state license required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for patient interaction.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
