Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications according to protocols
- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and assist with patient medication counseling
- Maintain precise records and ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy software efficiently
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy
- Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians on department procedures
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license required
- 1+ years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of HIPAA and pharmacy regulations
