Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages
- Manage inventory control and medication ordering systems
- Process insurance claims and maintain patient records
- Provide exceptional customer service and medication counseling
- Collaborate with pharmacists on clinical initiatives
- Maintain compliance with DEA, HIPAA, and state regulations
- Train new technicians on SOPs and technology
Qualifications
- Active Virginia Pharmacy Technician certification
- Prior hospital or retail pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell)
- Must pass background check and drug screening
