Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately prepare and package prescription medications for dispensing while adhering to all state and federal regulations.
- Verification: Verify patient information, insurance details, and physician orders to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage incoming shipments, and organize pharmacy storage areas efficiently.
- Customer Service: Assist customers with prescription transfers, refill requests, and medication questions in a friendly and professional manner.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and pharmacy safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is a plus.
- Certification: Active PTCB or ExCPT certification is preferred. Must be willing to obtain certification within 6 months of hire if not currently certified.
- Experience: Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent verbal communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency with pharmacy management software and basic computer operations.
