Responsibilities
- Receive and verify prescription orders from physicians and patients with strict adherence to safety protocols.
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately, including calculating dosages and compounding compounds.
- Process insurance claims and handle copayments efficiently to ensure a smooth customer experience.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock counts, and manage vendor ordering.
- Assist the Pharmacist in reviewing patient profiles for drug interactions and allergies.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions regarding medications and store policies.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, including HIPAA and DEA compliance.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification required (PTCB or ExCPT).
- Current California Pharmacy Technician license or registration.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy management software.
