Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and prescription orders to ensure strict compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and performing monthly cycle counts.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding prescriptions, insurance inquiries, and provide basic medication counseling.
- Process returns and exchanges while maintaining accurate, legible records of pharmaceutical transactions.
- Assist in the compounding of specialized medications when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment in accordance with OSHA and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred, or current state licensure as required.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug interactions, and dosage calculations.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proven ability to adhere to strict privacy policies, specifically HIPAA compliance.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
