Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical instruments for 15+ daily procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, retracting tissues, and handling specimens
- Maintain sterile environments and implement strict aseptic techniques per AORN guidelines
- Manage surgical equipment sterilization and inventory across 5 OR suites
- Document procedures accurately in Epic EMR systems
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams during complex surgeries
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety audits
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Graduate from accredited surgical technology program
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience in general surgery
- BLS/CPR certification with current provider status
- Proficiency in sterile processing and equipment handling
- Demonstrated knowledge of surgical anatomy and procedures
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced environments
