Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical instruments for procedures
- Assist surgeons during surgeries by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Manage surgical equipment and inventory to ensure optimal functionality
- Adhere to strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Document surgical procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain sterile processing equipment and sterilization systems
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience in a Level I trauma center
- Proficiency in sterile processing and surgical instrument handling
- BLS/CPR certification and knowledge of OSHA regulations
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and on-call rotations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Basic knowledge of surgical procedures and terminology
