Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment and instruments are sterile and ready
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce aseptic techniques throughout procedures
- Count surgical instruments, sponges, and needles before and after surgeries
- Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning and draping
- Assist in sterilization and maintenance of surgical equipment
- Document all perioperative activities accurately and promptly
Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and infection control protocols
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure surgical environments
- Current BLS certification
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods during procedures
