Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments and equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument passing and sterile field management
- Handle surgical specimens with precision for laboratory analysis
- Implement strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
- Manage surgical supplies inventory and equipment sterilization processes
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience in general surgery
- Current BLS certification
- Proficiency in sterile processing and equipment sterilization
- Knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance standards
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced surgical environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends
