Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operations
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms while monitoring vital signs
- Manage surgical equipment sterilization and inventory control
- Document procedural activities in electronic health records systems
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and Joint Commission standards
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in Level 1 trauma center
- Current BLS certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional communication skills
- Experience with robotic surgery systems preferred
- Graduate from accredited surgical technology program
